Experience. Quality. Reliability!
Family Business. Family Values.
Windsor Steel Corporation was founded by Robert J. Fogler and Joseph Walsh in 1972 as a distributor of tool and specialty steel. With distinguished careers in the steel industry, they combined forces to provide “cut to length” and one and two day delivery to end users in the Northeast from Connecticut and Massachusetts.
In 1986 Robert J. Fogler became the sole owner of Windsor Steel. He brought his son Andrew M. Fogler and daughter Joanne Patenaude into the business while adding carbon and alloy steel to their product line. They are now co-owners and have a staff of 14 people including Meredith Betts and James Mann, grandchildren of Robert J. Fogler who sadly passed in 2000.
Inside and Outside Sales
Our outside sales staff further services our customers and rounds out our sales team with over 100 years of combined experience. We currently operate four trucks that deliver within a 40 miles radius of the warehouse. Customer pick-ups, UPS, or common carriers make up the balance of shipments. Operating ten saws – 4 plate saws, 4 horizontal pulse cutting saws, and 2 vertical tilt frames – we can accommodate almost any steel requirement.

Andrew M. Fogler
CEO & President
Andy has been with Windsor Steel since 1974. He was asked by his father to join the company as an outside salesperson for the state of Connecticut.
While no longer representing the company as an outside salesman, Andy now oversees the workings of the company.
Andy, who is the President of the company, bought Windsor Steel with his sister in 1996.
C.F.O. & Treasurer
Meredith has been with Windsor Steel since 1987. As the Account Representative, she is involved with various aspects of the daily operations of the company.
As of September 2023, with the passing of her mother Joanne, Meredith has assumed the position of C.F.O. and Corporate Treasurer/Secretary. Fortunately, she is more than prepared for this role due to working alongside her mother for all these many years.
Mark has been the Warehouse Operations Manager since 2003. He is responsible for maintaining a smooth-flowing daily warehouse operation. Some of his areas of involvement include delivery schedules, shipping/receiving, saw operations, quoting, and executing custom saw applications.
Joanne joined Windsor Steel after working in law enforcement and as an Executive Assistant in real estate at the invitation of her father, the co-founder of the company. She has been with Windsor Steel since 1983 performing various duties including sales desk and managing accounts receivable and payable.
In 1996 she and her brother bought the company and she is currently serving as the C.F.O. and Corporate Treasurer/Secretary.
Sadly, Joanne passed away in August 2023 and her position has been passed on to her daughter Meredith Betts.
Joanne has insured the success of Windsor Steel for many years to come with the implementations of various financial programs she instituted over the last 5 years.
Ronald A. Lanier
Ron has been with Windsor Steel, starting in 1976 – since he was 16 years old. He began working in the warehouse, cutting steel and then delivering it. As the company expanded, Ron was the obvious choice to bring “inside” to the sales desk. Ron has a terrific rapport with customers and his co-workers. He is a true asset to the business.
Caroline has an additional 2
years experience in the steel industry elsewhere. In 2019 she volunteered with an organization to travel to Puerto Rico to clean and sanitize homes after a flood. As an Inside Sales Representative, she is a great addition to our Windsor Steel Family and looks forward to serving you.
James earned a BS Degree in Management Information Systems from Central Connecticut University in 1987. James has been with Windsor Steel since 1997. He has worked in all aspects of the company, working in the warehouse, driving the trucks for deliveries, and working Inside Sales. He is now serving as the Outside Sales Representative for the Northeast.
